Since its inception in 2005, the New Ideas in Hearing conference has become an established event
in the international auditory community. Its original format consists of 12 invited long talks,
matched by an equal amount of discussion periods, with a total of about 40 invited discussants.
The event is now being organized on a regular basis. The 2012 edition focused on Hot Topics
in Audiology and received additional funding from industrial private partners, in particular
Neurelec (cochlear implants), Advanced Bionics (implants) and Starkey (hearing aids).
The 2013 edition targeted Sensory Processing: how the Past affects the Present, and obtained
additional funding from the Laboratoire Associé France-Israel.
